At Ink-B-Gone we use te MedLite C6, a Q-Switched ND: Yag laser that is designed specifically for removal and lightening of the ink that comprises a tattoo. Make sure any office you go to is using a laser designed for tattoo removal. Hair removal lasers ARE NOT intended for tattoo removal and will damage the skin.
Make sure a trained and certified Laser Specialist is conducting your treatments. If the office offers many different types of laser treatments, ask to be seen by a person that primarily does tattoo removal. The experience and knowledge that is picked up from treating thousands of clients can result in less treatments for you and a better end result.
Laser companies supply facilities with 'stock' Before/After photos. Make sure the office has many pictures of their own clients available for you to view.
The tattoo removal process will typically require multiple treatments. The size, density, client's health/age, and area of body will determine how much time is needed between treatments. There is no 'standard' answer as each client and their tattoo is unique. An experienced Laser Specialist will evaluate each client and determine an individualized treatment plan.
Every office has their own way of pricing tattoo removal. It is important to remember this is YOUR BODY and you typically get what you pay for.
